It is fun being recognized in the street. People come up to me all of the time and say, “Aren’t you (Kenny) Steinberg from Steidl and Steinberg?”
After I smile and introduce myself, they say: “Your commercials are so funny!” And I express my genuine thanks.
We know what some of our potential clients are thinking. ken.steidl@steidl-steinberg.com and kenny.steinberg@steidl-steinberg.com are famous. It must be a big law firm and I’ll bet they charge a lot of money.
No. Not true. Not even close.
If a big law firm means six attorneys, then we are guilty as charged, though by most definitions, this is a very small law firm. If a big law firm means we do billboards and television commercials, then we are likewise guilty, but truth be told, it makes us well known, not big.
If being a big law firm means higher attorneys fees and less personal attention, well that is simply not true. In fact, nothing could be further from the truth. Fact is, we charge no more, and often much less, than sole practitioners or other law firms.
So many of our clients are surprised when we quote them an amount for their legal fees. “I went to so-and-so and he (or she) charges more than you guys. . . ” . I hear this very often.
Another thing I hear from our clients is that they cannot believe that we call them back (or respond to their email) so quickly. Why wouldn’t we? We want to help you. It is good for you. It is good for us.
If we call you back quickly or get with you on email, we can answer a question for you that might have bothered you all day or all night or was about to bother you all weekend except for the fact that we called you back quickly and answered your question. It is not special service; it is the kind of service you should expect from your attorney. Yes, we are in Court sometimes. We are also traveling to our regional offices so we can be closer to you and we are meeting with clients much of the day. And we have families and take off some time for vacations and holidays.
Every call and email cannot be returned with lightning-fast speed, but we try to do just that. If we fail to get back to you quickly, I want to know about it. You shouldn’t be looking for a small firm, a large firm, a sole practitioner, or any specific type of law firm or attorney. You should be looking for the attorneys who are going to properly handle the issues you have brought to them and who are responsive. That is the type of firm we strive to be. Every day, all of the time. We are here to serve you, to make your life easier.
That is what we do.
