Are you wondering what it is like to see one of the attorneys at Steidl and Steinberg?
Scary? I hope not. I mean, haven’t you seen us on TV? No? Then go to our website and watch our videos. You can see us all on tape – Ken, Kenny, Julie, Chris, Lauren, Elizabeth, and Mike. And look at our commercials while you are there.
So tell me: how nervous can you really be after seeing us make utter fools of ourselves in front of a camera?
Funny commercials aside, when you come in to see us, you will find a relaxed atmosphere. No sales pitch, no pressure, and certainly no one telling you that you did something stupid. Because in most cases, the reason you are coming in to see us is something out of your control, like a loss of income, divorce or separation, medical reasons, one or more of your children has cost you a lot of money, a business problem or failure, or something related to the above. Occasionally, the problem was just caused by overspending, but we won’t scold you for that, either. We just want to talk with you and see what we can do to make things better.
What should you bring? In most cases, we can use an informal list of everyone to whom you owe money, and approximately how much is owed to each. We can also use recent pay stubs from everyone in your household who is working, and if the recent pay stub is not a typical one, bring a typical pay stub also.
We expect that you will be somewhat familiar with your normal household expenses: mortgage or rent payments, utilities of all types, amount of gasoline usage in a month, food, insurances, etc. How accurate do you have to be? Approximate is fine. Accurate is very fine. Your choice.
And what can you expect from us? We will listen – a lot. And then we will discuss your options with you that we hope will make your life better. Much better, in many cases, because you have no doubt had a difficult time, and have thought long and hard before you decided to contact us. We don’t want to pile on to your load; instead, we want to do what we can to make things better.
So if you were nervous about coming in for a bankruptcy appointment, I hope you aren’t now. We would really like to begin the discussion on how you can move forward with your life. And if you are still nervous even after my pep talk, ask us to reprise our role in one of the commercials. We just might oblige. So give us a call at 800-360-9392 and schedule your appointment!
