Here at Steidl & Steinberg we offer a free consultation for those who are interested in filing for bankruptcy with us. Free should not be interpreted as unimportant. The consultation is your chance to get honest, professional advice as to how to resolve your debt problems and to get all of your bankruptcy questions answered. It is important that you come prepared with the right information.
This is a list of what you can bring to the consultation to make it more productive for you and your attorney:
- A couple of your most-recent paystubs, if you work, and a couple of your spouse’s most-recent paystubs if you are married and he or she works. If you don’t work, we will need to know how much income you have from Social Security, disability insurance, pension, unemployment compensation, worker’s compensation, etc.
- A list of your monthly living expenses such as rent or house payment, utility bills, food, gas, prescriptions and insurance premiums.
- A list of all of your debts, including; the name of the creditor, the total amount owed and the monthly payment.
- A list of any bankruptcy questions that you would like to ask.
It is important that you have this information prepared, because the attorney you meet with will need to know about your income, expense and debts in order to tell you what type of bankruptcy you qualify for and exactly how it will impact you. It is a good idea that you make a list of your questions so that you don’t get nervous or overwhelmed and forget something. By taking an hour or so to gather this information, you can make your consultation so much more productive than if you come unprepared.
You can be confident that any information shared with the attorney during the consultation is strictly confidential. In this day of security concerns regarding Social Security numbers and personal information, rest assured your personal information is always secure and confidential with us.
Now that you know what to bring to the consultation, what are you waiting for? Give Steidl & Steinberg a call. You will get to speak an attorney who will schedule you with one of these oh-so-informative free consultations. We look forward to hearing from you.
