Unemployment Disappointing for Beaver County

Unemployment Disappointing for Beaver County

Posted on June 3, 2016 by Lauren Lamb

Unemployment-Disappointing-For-Beaver-CountryApril’s unemployment numbers aren’t encouraging for Beaver County residents looking for a job. The County’s unemployment rate was 6.8%. That number was higher than the prior month and the same month last year. If you’re one of the approximately 6,000 Beaver County residents that are without work, now is the time to take a serious look at your finances.

Even if you’re lucky enough to qualify for unemployment compensation after losing your job, your income will decrease if you are unemployed. Most people don’t have savings to make up the income shortfall, which is why you have to review all of your expenses. Can you do without the premium cable channels? Can you live with a lower data plan? Can you stop going out to eat?

Time for Changes

Making these sacrifices may seem painful, but they are easy for you to accomplish on your own.  The problem really comes when you’ve cut back as far as you can, but still don’t have enough money to make ends meet.

The loss of a job often makes previously affordable credit card or loan payments impossible to make. If you are not fortunate enough to find another job right away, you may be faced with the decision as to whether to pay for housing and food or to pay for credit cards and personal loans. That decision is clear and you must do something to alleviate the burden of the debts. If debt payments are weighing heavy on you, Steidl and Steinberg can help.

We have helped tens of thousands of people eliminate or restructure their debt. Many of those people found themselves unexpectedly unemployed too. Give us a call to schedule a free consultation to find out if we can help you get your finances in order to help make your money go as far as possible while you are without a job. We even have an office in Beaver if any of the 6,000 unemployed Beaver County residents are reading.
